Background Checks

It is very important that you get your clearances completed right away.  We cannot permit anyone to represent the club or come in contact with children until after they have completed their background checks.   We have partnered with Protect Youth Sports to provide a more efficient and simpler online solution for our volunteers to complete background checks.  All Coaches and Assistants will need to log on to the Perk Valley link PVSC Background Checks  . You will fill out a simple form, and we will receive your clearances electronically.

Our background checks are a 3 stage process:

  • The first part is an online form that you fill out at the website link we provide.  This part of the process is working smoothly and we are receiving both our 50 state and  Penna. PATCH clearances within a day or two.
  • The second part is a brief, online volunteer training that you complete after the first step
  • The third part of the process involves our screening partner sending you an email with instructions and a special link for the a State Child Abuse Clearance, which is handled by a different State Agency than the 50 state and PATCH clearances

It is very important that you follow and complete all 3 steps  You should receive an email from Protect Youth Sports with a link and a specific code for the Child Abuse clearance  within a day or two. This email will give specific direction for how to finish the process.     Please let us know if you do not receive this email-info@perkvalleysoccer.org

Concussions

The club, like most other youth sports organizations, has adopted a concussion policy, that will be in effect for all club sponsored events.  As part of this initiative, all coaches will be required to complete the Center for Disease Control Heads Up Concussion Awareness Training.  This can be completed online in about 20 minutes and you will receive your certificate immediately. There is no user fee for this process and can be completed at the following web address:

Risk Management

We take the responsibility and privilege of working with youth very seriously,  and in order to promote and maintain a club wide culture of responsibility and child safety, there will be no exceptions to our risk management requirements.

In compliance with Act 153 all background checks and clearances must be updated every 5 years

We won’t be able to give out uniforms to you or your team if we don’t have these on file.  Any problems or questions, please contact Kevin MacDonald at kmacdonald@perkvalleysoccer.org or info@perkvalleysoccer.org
