U7-U9 Pee Wee Match Rules

The format of a combined 75-minute practice/match Pee Wee session is, as follows:

PART ONE (PRACTICE)
The first part of the session is when you will play various games within your own team. See our example lesson plans for ideas. The length and structure of this practice will be determined by the coaching staff(s), and there are no hard rules or requirements. Each team is different, and this practice portion of the session is meant to be a fun time where teammates can play games together. Breaks should be taken as necessary.

PART TWO (MATCH)
The second part of the session will involve a casual match between two different teams. You will play the team on the field next to your own. So, typically, this would mean that the team assigned to Field #1 would play the team assigned to Field #2. Depending on the number of players involved in a given match, the teams may split two groups between their 2 fields. Many teams will opt to place the more aggressive/active player in one match and the more laid-back players in the other. This is determined by the coaching staff(s), however, and we have no rules in place to control this.

The match details are, as follow:

- Size 3 Ball.

- No Goalkeepers, no limit on field players.

- Shin guards are required.

- No time is kept.

- Breaks as needed, determined by coaches/parents.

- No substitutions. All available/willing players are to be on the field.

- NO Kick offs, free kicks, throw-ins, goal kicks and corner kicks.

- Play should be restarted by coaches when/where necessary by either kicking or tossing the ball back into the field of play or allowing a player to restart with a kick.

- No penalty kicks.

- No offside.
